For a business trip to Naples, choose the area by where your meetings are: Chiaia and Mergellina for a polished, walkable base on the bay, Centro Direzionale or Fuorigrotta if your appointments are there. An apartment is worth considering for stays of several nights.
Naples is easy to underestimate as a business destination. This guide is about choosing a base. We do not publish a cost comparison with Milan: rates vary by season and by apartment, and our listings show the real price for your dates.
Where business travellers stay
Chiaia
Elegant, walkable and close to the bay, Chiaia is a common choice for business travellers who want a polished base. One of our apartments, Casa Sasù, is on Via Gradoni di Chiaia.
Mergellina
Quieter than Chiaia, on the waterfront and close to the port and the ferries. A good option if you mix business and leisure.
Centro Direzionale
The business district built in the 1990s near the main station, with offices and public bodies. If your meetings are there, a base nearby can shorten the commute, though the area is functional rather than charming.
Fuorigrotta
If your meetings are around the university, the stadium or the Mostra d'Oltremare exhibition centre, a base in Fuorigrotta is convenient. Note that part of Fuorigrotta is in the civil protection volcanic planning zone for the Campi Flegrei: see our safety guide for what the official sources say.
Getting around
Metro Line 1 and Line 6, the funiculars to Vomero and the main railway station are the backbone of public transport. Check timetables and tickets on the operators' official sites before you travel, and plan the route from the apartment to your first meeting the day before.
Apartment or hotel?
- Apartment: better for stays of several nights, working from the accommodation, or a short informal meeting over coffee in your own living room.
- Hotel: simpler for a single night with a fixed agenda.
The FAQ on this site says check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 10:00, with self check-in instructions sent 24 hours before arrival and free Wi-Fi in all properties. Italian law requires your host to register every guest: bring documents for each person, as explained in documents needed to check in.

The honest take
If your work is in Southern Italy, a base in Naples saves the commute. If your meetings are all in Milan, stay in Milan: our Milan corporate housing guide covers that case. For ideas outside working hours, see the 48-hour itinerary.
Frequently asked questions
Where should I stay in Naples for business?
Choose by meeting location. Chiaia and Mergellina are popular with business travellers who want a polished, walkable base; Centro Direzionale and Fuorigrotta make sense when your meetings are there.
Is an apartment better than a hotel for a business trip in Naples?
For stays of several nights, an apartment gives you a kitchen and living space that works well for hybrid working. For a single night, a hotel can be simpler.
Do you invoice companies?
Ask us: write to booking@cosmicagroup.space with the dates and company details, and we will confirm invoicing and other conditions in writing before you book.
